Greetings,
If you take anti-depressants, or any other kind of psychiatric drug, you need to get your hands on Anatomy of an Epidemic.
I am on page 161, and the more I read, the angrier I become. Turns out there is a lot of evidence out there that antidepressants, with the exception of severely depressed people, are no better than placebos.
And, this is the part that is making me mad, antidepressants alter the way that your brain works (not in a good way) to the point that the longer you are on an antidepressant, anti-anxiety, or anti-schizophrenia drug the greater your chance of having a relapse if you go off the drug, and also the greater the chance that your condition will get worse, if you stay on the drug.
I was on antidepressants for just over three years when I went to the hospital. I am now wondering if the drugs had anything to to with it.
Enjoy life,
Peter
